PodSkip transcribes podcast audio entirely on your device using a local on-device AI speech recognition model. Your audio never leaves your device.
When analyzing episodes, anonymized transcript text is sent to our server to identify advertisements. No audio is ever transmitted. Transcript text is keyed by episode URL hash only — it is never linked to any user account, device identifier, or personal information. We store:
Transcript text is also processed by Anthropic Claude AI on our server to classify ad segments. No audio or personal data is ever sent to Anthropic.

Episode transcript data is stored on our servers to power ad detection for all users of that episode. We do not associate this data with individual users. Transcript data may be retained indefinitely to improve detection accuracy; it contains no personally identifiable information. You may request deletion of any data associated with your usage by contacting [email protected].
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not share user data with advertisers. Transcript data shared with Anthropic is used solely for ad segment classification and is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your data, including the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold. Because PodSkip does not collect personally identifiable information, most of these rights have limited practical scope. However, you may contact us at any time to:
